As we get closer to spring 2021, we are seeing some definite hair color trends shining through. As the weather warms up, and restrictions tone down, it’s the perfect time to come into William Robert Salon and let our professional hair colorists give you the hair color you deserve.
There are many hair colors this season that are leaning toward the natural look. Just in case there’s a flare up in the pandemic, women are choosing hair color trends that don’t need a lot of maintenance or that will look just as fabulous as it grows out.
Typically we don’t look at blonde hair and think “low maintenance,” but this rooty-blonde look will help you extend your time between visits. We’ve seen this trend getting more and more popular and don’t see it letting up anytime soon. If anything, roots are trending deeper so you don’t have to constantly touch-up the roots. This rooted blonde look gives a natural, forgiving look and adds depth and dimension to your blonde hair color. We’re seeing bright, buttery hues or smoky chic blondes with darker roots for an overall natural and sophisticated look.
Want to go platinum without all the upkeep? Start with darker blonde roots and color melt all the bright platinum colors you want through your hair. Color melting keeps your hair looking natural while the darker roots take away the need for constant touch-ups.
Statement Money Piece
Looking for a pop of color without committing to your whole head of hair? You can leap into blonde-dom, enjoy some red highlights, or enjoy a fantasy color by going super subtle and letting our hair colorist focus only on the “money pieces,” the strands that flatter your face. If you want more subtly, use babylighting to work the pop of color into the rest of your hair to blend.
Move over lowlights, highlights, and babylights – we’re going to be seeing a whole new way to brighten up brown hair in the spring & summer of 2021! Twilights is a mix of sparkly babylights and ombre highlights. So instead of plain brown, we’re talking tiny pops of golden flecked highlights throughout the hair, bringing new life to your brunette base. Twilights work wonderfully with brunette hair with warm undertones and any type of texture. Ombre is low-maintenance and grows out quite nicely, giving it that natural look. Although balayage is always trending for spring to lighten hair, this is a new dimension of finer, more delicate twilights.
Although we are seeing a lot of cool shades this spring, not all are going in that direction. We’re also seeing a shift toward tonal terracotta, which includes shades of earthy cinnamon and warm auburn tones. These rich tones are flattering for any skin tone and help to give your hair a boost of vibrancy and glow after the dreary winter. Ask your hairstylist about blending tones of cinnamon, light amber, and golden brown to give this tonal terracotta hair color a multi-dimensional look with many highlights.
Jet black never goes out of style. It’s sleek, chic, and an easy single-process hair color. Although some women are looking for bright and bold, breaking free from the constraints of 2020, others are embracing low-maintenance color that can be touched-up at home just in case. Adding in a few highlights or lowlights into jet black hair will give your hair new life and can soften the black by adding dimension to the color. Using a balayage technique will allow your hair color to grow out naturally.
We’re still seeing fantasy colors, especially pink, going strong. Women want to break free from the monotony of being stuck indoors for too long and empower themselves with strong, bold colors to show off their individuality and freedom. We are seeing everything ranging from all-over color to using hair coloring techniques such as ombre, balayage, and color melting to blend fantasy colors through the hair for a look that is all their own.
