The longer these stay-at-home orders last, the more likely your hair is to need some extra TLC. From damaging sun rays to too-tight elastic bands, your hair is exposed to harsh environmental factors on a daily. Today, we’re here to talk about two easy hair masks you can make at home to help you improve the look and feel of your hair!
1. Strawberries + egg yolk + olive oil: Consider this mask a protein boost for your hair! The antioxidants in the strawberries add moisture and shine, while the protein in the egg yolk will strengthen your strands. Because this one can be a bit difficult to rinse out, make sure you have plenty of time to shower after application.
This mask is easy to make, just follow these simple instructions: Puree one cup of strawberries in a blender. Add in one egg yolk and 3 TBSP of olive oil and mix to combine. Work into your hair, cover with a plastic shower cap, plastic bag, or plastic wrap. Leave in for 20-30 minutes. Rinse out with cool water. Use your favorite conditioner directly after rinsing and leave in for 5 minutes. Rinse the conditioner out and then shampoo/condition your hair as normal.
2. Banana + Avocado + Coconut Oil: This mask is ultra-moisturizing and does a great job of softening the hair and protecting its elasticity thanks to the potassium in the bananas. Avocados are rich in B vitamins that encourage hair growth and strength, and coconut oil has moisturizing properties that can’t be beaten!
For this mask, simply combine 1 ripe avocado, 1 ripe banana, and 2 TBSP coconut oil. Blend until thoroughly mixed. Spread evenly throughout your hair and cover with a plastic shower cap or other plastic material. Leave in for 20-30 minutes and then rinse out with your regular shampoo and conditioner routine.
These are just a few of the nourishing hair masks you can make at home to keep your hair looking and feeling its best. For additional ideas, keep up with William Robert Salon online, or download our free mobile app. It’s available on iTunes or Google Play.
