Instead of shampooing, you’ll still want to give your scalp a good scrub and rinse your hair with warm water. This will get rid of any dirt and product buildup. Then, finish by conditioning your hair.
It’s important to regularly condition your hair. Your hair texture and the seasons will affect how much moisture your hair needs. It’s best to condition every time you shower. A leave in conditioner will reduce frizz and is best if you have curly or wavy hair. A deep conditioner is best during the winter or for hair that needs extra moisture.
Limit Styling with Heat
Styling with heat can lead to damaged hair. When styling, limit the heat to the lowest heat possible, and be sure to apply a heat protectant in your hair prior to using any heated styling tools. Instead of a curling wand or hot rollers, try using steam rollers. They are gentle on the hair as they don’t get too hot.
It’s important to trim your hair about every 6-12 weeks if you have medium to long hair to maintain healthy looking hair. If you have short hair, you’ll want to trim more frequently for the style to look its best. You should trim every 4-8 weeks. Trimming your hair frequently, removes any damaged, split-ends and makes your hair strong and healthy looking.
